This post is a little late, but here's some pictures from when we visited Grandpa and Grandma Elings gravesite. There's also a picture of Grandpa & Grandma's trailer (it's been re-sided, but it's the same trailer!), and a picture of Bert's (Grandpa's) Barber Shop and the Graves Hotel where Grandma worked as a maid for many many years.

Oh gosh. That brings back so many memories. Looking at the trailer, I can actually remember what it smelled like in there. Kind of a combination Harlo water, smoke and musty.
Wow.... this is so cool. I can feel the "pangs" deep inside. The memories frozen in time like the snapshots I have from when I visited and spent time there. I can remember the smells too. I can hear the voices, the laughter, the TV, see Grandma sit perfectly straight, and her both Grandma and Grandpa chuckle. Cool.
I like the yellow roses on Grandma's side of the headstone. I put a yellow rose in my dad's crypt when he died and ever since then I've always associated yellow roses with my dad.....neat since they are associated with his mom too (and dad).
So true that "a picture is worth a thousand words." I could go on and on and am in my mind about the memories swirling within me right now. Special.... thanks Bren.
Isn't it crazy what seeing certain things do to our brains and memories? I really wanted to go into the Graves and have a milkshake (don't even know if the diner in there is still open), but it was raining really hard and the girls were in the car and so impatient. I had to hold my hand over my camera lense so I didn't have raindrops on it! It actually took me a few minutes to realize that was actually G & G's trailer--with the siding it looked so new--and the porch wasn't as big as it used to be. Their little shed is gone--I loved that shed for some reason.
